Baked Burro Bananas

About the Recipe

Ingredients

  • Burro bananas are ripe when the skin turns yellow and develops dark spots.
  • These can be eaten by themselves or added to fruit salads. They can be dried into chips, baked, boiled or when ripe are used for desserts.
  • Burro bananas are also called Orinoco, horse, and chunky bananas.

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Peel bananas and cut into chunks.
  3. Place into a shallow baking dish. Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and cardamom, then dot evenly with butter.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes or until bubbles form. Serve warm.
