Every year we say it, and every year it's true: This was the best year yet! Between the crazy vendors, wild contests and fun-loving people there was always something going on.
The Arena of Fire was alive with excitement and activity. Contestants ranged from 8 year old girls like Savannah and teenage champion Robert, to men with iron stomachs. And if you didn't stay for the Defcon DeathMatch, you really missed the show as it was awesome! Defcon owners, John & Maggie, put on a great show to a standing room only crowd. Tears were flowing and there were more than a couple people who looked like they were not feeling very well because of the heat. It was an awesome contest!
Our vendors are the best! Heated up and ready to go, you could feel the excitement as the show began. And they didn't let anyone down. Hot, fiery food, sweet BBQ sauces, and some spicy salsas, mustards, chips and even ice cream! And right behind the vendors are the bloggers; Scott, Al, Dave and the rest who continually support the hot sauce community by offering their encouragement as well as to try all the samples.
BBQ Alley was off to a slow start Saturday because of the weather, but Sunday the food was flowing. People really enjoyed the crepes, deep-fried coneys and other food available. It was a great place to stop for lunch or dinner before heading back into the Fiery Foods Expo.
We are settling back down and getting our thoughts together so we can make next year even bigger and better!
