- 3 Apples - any kind, with peel
- 2 Pears - with peel
- 1/2 cup water
- Sugar to taste
- Core and coarsely chop the fruit.
- Put the fruit and water in a Dutch oven and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes or until very soft.
- Remove from heat and mash.
- Add sugar to taste.
- Makes about 2 cups.
