Spicy Hummus

Ingredients

  • 2 cups canned garbanzo beans, drained
  • 1/3 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cloves garlic, halved
  • 2 slices jarred jalapeno pepper, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon liquid from the jar of jalapeno peppers
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pinch paprika
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley

Directions

  1. Place the garbanzo beans, tahini, lemon juice, salt, garlic, jalapeño peppers, jalapeño liquid, black pepper, cayenne pepper and cumin in a blender or food processor.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Transfer mixture to a serving bowl.
  4. Drizzle olive oil over the garbanzo bean mixture.
  5. Sprinkle with paprika and parsley.
