Microwave Applesauce

Ingredients

  • 8 medium cooking apples - peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, optional

Directions

  1. Place apples and water in a 1 1/2 quart casserole and cover with plastic wrap.
  2. Microwave on high for 5 minutes and stir well.
  3. Return to microwave and cook 5-6 minutes, or until tender.
  4. Add sugar and cinnamon and mash with fork or process in food processor for a smoother texture.
  5. Serve warm or cold.
  6. Serves 4.
