Long Grained Planning
Rice and dals are irreplaceable in the Indian diet. One of the best qualities of rice in India is the long grained Dehra Dun, known as Basmati. Pick up a bag (in whatever size meets your needs) of Swad, Dynasty, or Sultan to name just a few.Valley of the Dals
Dals, also known as legumes or pulses, appear as a variety of lentils, peas and beans. Look for Moong Dal (a small green mung bean), the creamy white Urad Dal, and Toor Dal (African pigeon peas). When complimented with rice or bread, dals form a rich and inexpensive source of cholesterol-free protein.
