Welcome to Crazy Green at Jungle Jim's!

'Jungle' Jim Bonaminio has built this store on recycled, reused and repurposed materials. Recycling is the process of transforming reusable materials into products rather than landfilling these materials. This helps conserve landfill space, natural resources, reduces energy usage and prevents pollution. Since 1974, when Jungle originally opened at this site, he has been collecting items, materials and anything that could one day be used in the store. From counters to display units to Elvis and penguins, just about everything you see has been given a 'second life' here in our store. Jungle is committed to diverting recyclable materials from the landfill.

Beginning with our weekly ad, we will be letting you know about the repurposed items here at Jungle Jim's. Each week, you will find a 'Crazy Green' fact on the back of the weekly ad. After we tell you about an item, we will put the Crazy Green sign with our web address on the item so you can see the large number of recycled items we have here. Then come to this website where you'll find more information about the Crazy Green Fact of the Week.

On this website, you will read about our recycling efforts and accomplishments straight from our very own Director of Development, Phill Adams. Check out our Recycle Blog to see where we got the Serpent guarding the entrance on Gilmore Road; how the Animal Pond in the front of the store was created and the ideas behind our Award Winning Restrooms. Everything you always wanted to know about Jungle Jim's - that we're still afraid to ask...

We also have a forum for you to give us your ideas and solutions for helping reuse, recycle and repurpose. Help us broaden our boundaries by getting more people into thinking about how to help our environment and ourselves!
