Welcome to the Cooking School at Jungle Jim’s International Market. Recreational cooks of every skill level will find our hands-on and demonstration classes to be fun, informative and delicious. If you are traveling in Ohio or live in the Cincinnati area, we invite you to register for a cooking class and improve your culinary skills. Cincinnati Magazine voted the Cooking School at Jungle Jim’s International Market as BEST COOKING SCHOOL in Cincinnati in 2010. We are committed to offering recreational cooks the best and most diverse class offerings:
Local, regional, national and international chefs make up our instructional team each session. In-house wine and beer experts along with distillery representatives provide current information that enhances the exciting menus and delectable recipes our chefs cook up for class. It has never been easier or more convenient to experience a culinary adventure right here in Cincinnati!
The summer class season is always anticipated because we are enthusiastic about all the fresh garden produce available here at Jungle Jim’s. We consciously plan our menus to cook seasonably, utilizing the freshest, crispest and most locally available fruits and vegetables.
The freshest ingredients are of utmost concern to our new chefs and to our talented and trusted returning chefs. They’ll help you steam, sauté, bake and grill your way through summer! Four new chefs will showcase their passion for food and you will enjoy learning from their culinary and cultural experience.
Twenty staff and fellow foodies will be joining Don Govoni and me for a unique culinary experience in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy this summer. They will be enjoying leisurely day trips to the mountains, the plains and the Adriatic coast, all the while sampling the splendid regional cuisine. Watch for a class to follow this fall featuring the best of what was enjoyed by our group.
As a service to our students, we will offer another knife sharpening event on Saturday, June 22, from 10:00am until noon. Here is your chance to have your knives professionally sharpened! Back by popular demand, for each class you take in May, you will receive a coupon to have 2 knives sharpened. If you are unable to attend a class in May, you can still bring in your knives. We are happy to do what we can to make cooking more efficient and fun.
Take some time to enjoy the summer’s bounty and join us for some stellar classes. It looks to be a flavorful season at the Cooking School at Jungle Jim’s.
