Parking Lot: Driving into Jungle Jim's is the beginning of your amusement park adventure. Beginning with the highway signs, the cart holders and plants climbing up the building all the way through to the animal pond. Gorillas, giraffes and elephants greet you as you head for the main entrance. Along the way, check out the Miami University chairs and Breezeway Deals before you get the NASCAR race car above the main entrance.
Greeter: Welcome to Jungle Jim's! You'll find the first attraction, Corn & Butter here greeting you as you enter the store. There is a human greeter as well, in case you have a question.
Health & Beauty: To your left is Healthy and Beauty underneath Jungle Jim's original roof. There you'll find all the bandages, allergy medicine, lotions and soaps you'll need. Along with shampoo, conditioner, hair products, deodorant and razors.
Sushi Bar: Our Sushi carries all five types of sushi including sashimi, edamame salad and baby octopus salad. They also have warm, ready to eat Chinese dinners like Sweet & Sour Pork with rice. Look above this area for our Pink Elephant. It's really the end of an air vent, but we use it as something fun.
Jasmin: To the right of the Sushi Bar is Jasmin, Gifts of Distinction. Jasmin is a high-end gift shop containing Vera Bradley, Brighton, Tervis Tumblers, Thymes lotion, gels, soaps and more. They have a Birthday Club and specials waiting for you.
Grocery: American Groceries will be on your left as you leave the Sushi Bar. Kellogg's, Folgers, Cheerios, ketchup, mustard, baking supplies, canned fruit and vegetables, bread and pasta are all available here along with all your regular groceries.
Deli: The Jungle Jim's Deli has the largest variety of Boar's Head meats in the tri-state area. We also carry Blue Grass lunchmeats and homemade salads and cheese balls. Rounding out the Deli is our Catering Kitchen. We make fruit trays, party trays, condiment trays and salads for all your party needs. We make our own fresh mozzarella, glaze hams and turkeys and make lots of salads, cheese balls and dips from our own recipes.
Cheese Shop: Our Cheese shop boasts over 1100 different kinds of cheese from over 70 countries. Limburger, Cheddar (from England and America), Parmesano Reggiano, and Fresh Mozzarella made with Buffalo milk are a few of the many cheeses available. You will also find great quality pancetta, proscuitto, pates, butters, and sausage in this department. Don't forget to check out our 'Big Cheese'!
Beer & Wine Department: Over 1200 beers and 12,000 wine labels grace this department. Blue Goose, Biltmore, Great Lakes, Pumpkin Lager (seasonal) and Pauley Girl are just a few of the labels you'll find here. Check out our wine library, wine and beer making supplies and our wine cellar while you're here. Don't just look confused at the port-a-potties. Go in and see why we won the Best Restrooms in America contest in 2007. Look in our 30' Beer Cave and take an empty six-pack to make a custom six-pack full of your favorites. In the back of this department is our State Store and Cigar Humidor. The Humidor is huge and has cigars from every country except one. That's right, no Chilean cigars here.
Express Check Out: Between Starbucks and the Beer & Wine Department is our Express Checkout. You can park in the smaller parking lot parellel to Route 4 if you are buying products for a party or dinner, or if you have less than 20 items to purchase. Then you can check out here.
Candy: Although you can find candy in many places around Jungle Jim's (State Store, International, Cash Registers, between the main check out and Frozen, Natural Foods, etc.), this is where you will find candies from yesteryear. Look to your left at the Coney Island Bumper Cars. They hold lots of old time candy like Mallow Bars, Chunky, Bulls Eye and Black Cow Taffy. You can also find novelties and a large Pez display. We have many different varieties of Pez from the small to some 2 feet tall. Add to your collection by purchasing one today.
Bakery: To the right of Candy is our Scratch Bakery. We make 75% of what we sell here. Artisan breads, European style breads, Jewish bakery, Amish recipe cakes and cookies and even Candied Apples. Our Apples by Sharon are covered with chocolate, caramel, candies and other delights. Breakfast pastries like danish are always available as are Eclairs, Lady Fingers, Cream Horns, Oreo cakes, Carrot Cake and Whoopie Pies. We also sell Bon Bonarie European style desserts and Servatii's baked goods as well. One of our top selling items is our pretzel bread. It comes in six varieties including pepperoni, garlic & herb and jalapeno. Great for dipping and using for sandwiches.
Old Fashioned Meat Department: Different from other meat departments, we start here with our international meat section. Here you'll find heads of all kinds; calf, pig, duck and lamb. We sell pig feet, snouts, tails and brains; cow hooves, stomachs, tongues; Confusion style duck; chicken feet and hog maws. Everything for every person from every country.
Yes, we have American meats, too. Chicken, pork tenderloins, hamburger, steaks, roasts, turkey and more. Hot dogs, sausage, brats, metts and a Cincinnati favorite, Goetta. All of our non-frozen chicken is Amish, however we do sell 'regular' frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts.
Next is our Exotic Meats. Here you will find everything from Alligator to Wild Boar. Also here is Buffalo, Goat, Rabbit, Elk, Caribou, Turtle, and Kangaroo to name a few.
Next to the Exotic Meats is the Jungle Jim's homemade meat case. We dry-age our own meats, which is not common. We also make 17 different kinds of sausage, stuff our own roasts, marinate chicken (cajun, teriyaki, garlic & herb, lemon, etc), marinate steaks and make our own meatloaf. There are lots of dinner ideas in the ready to cook section.
Across from the Homemade Case is our Restaurant Quality Meat Case. Pork chops, filet mignon and frenched lamb are here in case you want a restaurant quality meal at home.
Produce: Turn the corner to see our 1 1/2 acres of Produce. We begin with favorites like apples, oranges, peaches, nectarines, blue berries, pineapple and grapes. We go from common to not-so-common here. One minutes you are looking at Grapples, lemons, and kiwi fruit. The next you see Ugli Fruit, Yali Pears, Kiwano Melons and Durian. And those are just the fruits. We have about 500 different kinds of produce available here. The vegetables include cactus, jicama, yucca, boniato, chestnuts and ching chang as well as our standbys; broccoli, cauliflower, fava beans, green beans, blue and fingerling potatoes and green onions.
Fresh herbs are found here, and not just the normal ones. Large bunches of cilantro and culantro as well as Italian parsley and large containers of basil. Shallots, bok choy and baby bok choy, coconuts and many different varieties of mangos and bananas.
Organic produce is a big part of this department as we have up to 100 different kinds of organic produce at any time. Herbs, fruit and vegetables are all here, and reasonably priced as well.
International: Our International Department encompasses about 73 countries and 50,000 products. The first area you come to is Asia; China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Thailand products are all found here. Whether you are looking for edamame, White Rabbit candy, Red Bean frozen pops, rice vinegar, dried squid or kim chee, you'll find them here.
Next is our International Blvd. where we have our Hot Sauce Collection. We have about 1300 hot sauces located under the fire truck. Cajohn, Defcon, Jim Dandy's BBQ Sauce, Kentucky Smokin' Grill and Uncle Phill's are all here, plus about 1295 more. Look for the hottest hot sauces available in the special locked display at the far end of the truck. We also have t-shirts, hot peppers, and other hot products located here.
The Hispanic section includes South American countries as well as Mexico. Nopales, Abuelita chocolate, guava candy, achiote and adobo are just a few of the products found here. We also have sombreros, pinatas and other non-food Hispanic-type products available.
Going toward the back of the store, we come to Germany, Eastern Europe, Russia, and under Robin Hood's tree is the United Kingdom as well as Australia and Africa. Look for Robin, Little John and Maid Marion to find English teas, scone mixes and English Kit Kats. Tim Tams, Vegemite, Marmite and more are located here.
Gourmet Galeria: In the very back of Jungle Jim's is our Gourmet Galeria where you can find everything you need for cooking and baking like cookie sheets, cooking utensils, cookbooks and kitchen linens. Name brand pots and pans include Le Cruset, All-Clad, Viking, Culinary Institute of America, and Swiss Diamond and lots more. Gadgets of every description and application (over 2000) include Oxo, RSVP, WMF, Rosly, Norpro and many more. Fondue, wine & bar, tea pots and kettles, grilling equipment, salt mills and pepper grinders, we have them all. Other brand names include: Cuisinart, Krups, Zojirushi, Micro Plane and Soda Stream. Knives: Wustoff, Shun, Messermeister, Kyocera. So come in to see all the kitchen equipment, gadgets, knives, linens and brands located in Gourmet Galeria.
International (continued): In the back of the International Department is Germany and India. India is a great place to find spices, legumes and nuts. Peppercorns, cinnamon sticks, paprika, chili powder and cardamom all from India are here! Cashews, pistachios, as well as lentils and dal.
Italy and Mediterranean is next. We have tubes of tomato pasta, lots of different pastas, falafel, and up to 70 different kinds of olive oil here. Oils include flavored oils like basil oil, garlic oil and rosemary oil. Specialty oils include truffle oil and the vinegars are just as varied. Balsamic vinegars for fruits or salads up to the best being from Moderna. Look here for anything you crave in middle-eastern food.
European Village: The European village in Jungle Jim's is Spain, France, Kosher, Scandinavia, Holland, Ireland and the Jungle Jim's Theater. Sea Salt, French chocolate and mustards, Spanish olives, capers and saffron, and even a five minute movie about Jungle Jim's.
Jungle Pets: Our Pet department is huge! Everything you need and your pet wants is here! Bird houses, birdseed, dog and cat food, toys, treats, kitty litter, bones, chews, cat toys. You name it, we have it.
Natural Foods: Our Natural Foods department is growing like crazy (must be all the healthy food). You can find soy, almond and rice milk; lots of cereals from Barbara's Kashi, EnviroKids; power bars and natural chocolate and carob. Baking needs like date, turbinado and raw sugar; oat, rye, wheat flours and carob chips. Lots of juices and ready to eat foods from Annie's, Health Valley and Muir Glen.
We have your special dietary needs all in one place. Look next to 'The Brain' for Gluten Free, Low Salt, Sugar Free, and other special diet needs. If you shop for someone with Celiac Disease, you'll find gluten free pretzels, pasta and breads here that taste great.
Herb N Jungle: Our newest department is the Herb N Jungle. This department was created to take care of all your supplement and vitamin needs. With special demos, like Barlean's Omega-3 Swirl, we will show you how everyone can benefit from this department. Come in to get your whole-food vitamins, protein powder and Omega-3 liquid good for the whole family.
Dairy & Frozen: Our new and improved Dairy and Frozen departments are now replacing the products you didn't want with ones that everyone needs. Stop in to see the new brands and products available here. Some top sellers are Yoplait Smoothies in Frozen and all the varieties of yogurt! from fat-free, to Greek-style, to fruit on the bottom, we have them all. (And what we don't have here, we have in Natural Foods).
